2010-02-04
First National Bank (FNB) today announced its commitment of a further R1.5 million to the Joburg Art Fair. The bank further announced that this support will continue during the next three years.
The Art Fair showcases the best of contemporary visual culture on the African continent. The third Joburg Art Fair, scheduled for 26-28 March 2010 provides a platform for work of artists across South Africa and will feature genres ranging from glass work to sculpture and fine contemporary art. At the same time, Joburg Art Fair will continue to perform its critical function of bringing artists and their potential investors together. Says Lezanne Human, CEO of FNB Investment Product House; “The current economic climate calls for investors to consider alternative investment avenues, of which art is a class of growing interest.” Human explains that the past two art fairs have helped investors identify and secure their art investment options. “FNB is proud to sponsor the 3rd Annual Joburg Art Fair. We are confident that the price range available at the fair will allow a variety of individuals to gain access to art as an alternative investment tool,” says Human. Contemporary Africa art showcased at the Joburg Art Fair will range from R1000 to R5 million.
